Summer On 3rd

      Summer On 3rd

      29"x29" oil on canvas

Summer is here on 3rd street! I was going to paint with hot colors but somehow I ended up with mostly cool colors. I thought I might feel the heat by painting cooler colors, does it make any sense? Anyway exploring the seasons continues.

Spring On 3rd

Spring On 3rd

29"x29" oil on canvas

Since I started taking photos manually I realized something, for a long time I have forgotten how to see things around me. Being in my familier environment I somehow forgot to pay more attention to whatever comes into my line of sight. Staring at a window I was infatuated by this bouquet of flowers, the more I look the more I mesmerized by it. At first I thought how boring it was but by staring at it for a long time I was so infatuated by it, colors, shapes and textures. I could almost smell the scent from the street. Hard to explain but I loved it! Simply by changing my attitude, just strolling the neighborhood can be something special, best of all its free!

Homebound

Homebound

29"x29" oil on canvas

Is it just me to have the urge to hit the road without planning anything, no direction and no destination. Wondering over ride my fear of everything with my curiosity. New roads, new landscape, new town, new aroma, new people, new light and new sounds.....it's a luxury to experience unknown at first hand this day and age. I should hurry and get going still I can walk and nothing hurts on my body. I still love to embrace living with my own senses before it's too late.

A Camera

A Camera

24"x29" oil on canvas

Recently I purchased a camera out of necessity although I had not much of interest in photography. All I wanted was just a point and shoot camera but this camera started getting under my skin against my intention. Once I switched to manual mode, something magical things started happening. Like a riding a bicycle, taking off the training wheels is the scary things to do but once I started playing with all the manual settings, I was hooked. Loves the feel of the metal andi it has just right amount of weight further more it nicely nestles in my hands. The more pictures I take the more this camera grows on me. Switching from full auto to full manual, I never guessed it would be this much fun.

Route 66

Route 66

29"x29" oil on canvas

Off the beaten path I made a pit stop in the middle of nowhere, all I hear was crickets chirping while I was enjoying the sent of fresh grass. It's so peaceful and relaxing.  I was standing there for  a long time just being thankful that I could embrace the moment.

Something In The Air

Something In The Air

28.3/4"x29.3/4" oil on Canvas

Charms of imperfection. From the begging I hoped this painting would be messier than I usually paint. Paints were woozed out and shapes didn't conform within the boundaries and best of all textures are messy all over. Being care free I had so much fun till the end.

By Tomorrow Where Will You Be Landing Flight 0516

By Tomorrow Where Will You Be Landing Flight 0516

20"x26", oil on canvas

12/11/21

I was wondering what would be like to fly in old days without inflight dining and entertainment. My guess is still so exciting just being in the air, it was an adventure! This painting reminded me my very first time flight to the US, first time abroad of course. As soon as Pan Am 747 took off from Haneda airport Japan, all of a sudden it dawned on me....What have I done! My fear reached all time high. All alone by my self and top of all I had no idea what would I find out when I reached San Francisco in the morning. Under the wing, to my surprise, I was mesmerized by this long stretch of golden landscape glowing in the morning sun. Fortunately indeed my curiosity took over my fear and worry. I have no regrets that I had my very first flight.
