Although I painted this old warehouse my intention wasn't to show and explain about it. I had no intention to communicate any kind of messages nor concepts. Simply I only painted -Sensations-with lines, shapes, colors and textures not much of the old warehouse itself. Just follow the textures throughout the painting, then hopefully you'll enjoy traveling through your own personal sensations. It's not much of reading the painting but more like feeling the painting. Yes, feel it  with your eyes :))

Forbidden store that what I was thinking when I passed this lingerie store. I had no business in there being a man but are't you curious what kind of fancy lingeries they offer.... The store being so mysterious but I didn't have an enough guts to go inside. Well for my excuse I thought something should be left alone as a mystery so I kept mosey down the street. May be someday...........

Strolling through streets of downtown Los Angeles, I was enjoying the sights and sounds of this city. I never thought of taking photos as my hobby but now I found out something I should have learned photography long time ago. Taking photos forces me to look around my surroundings more carefully and surprisingly I would notice a lot of inspirations.  Anyways, passing by this outdoor cafe I was fascinated by a lady working on her assignment from art school (that was just my wild guess). Frenzy was the right word, she was working so hard and involved on her work nothing bothered her she didn't even notice that I was just standing near by admiring her work  with awe. Day well spent!  It was a good day.

How am I supposed to organize so many elements for this piece that's what I was wondering before I started. No matter how much I eliminated and simplified still I left with a lots of elements. One way or the other had to start but instead pissing and moaning I stared having fun with this painting against my initial thoughts. It's annoying to go to bed without knowing what to do next day but then again someday I can't wait the next day with excitement. At the end this painting is more like read into it instead of look at it.

Working on this piece, I hoped to make this painting very simple and clean yet I was afraid of it

might end up being dull and boring. My main concern was how I can come up with interesting shapes, fortunately I loved and enjoyed making all the shapes one after the other in the piece. To avoid too much and too many sharp edges I introduced lots of soft shapes within the shapes which seems like helped soften the painting. At the end, fortunately I started thinking that I can 

live with this painting for a long time.

Every time I start a new painting a new conversation with a painting starts and lasts even long after I finish the piece. I know it sounds crazy but it's almost like meeting a lifelong friend. Duration of painting, we talk about colors, shapes, textures, brush strokes even constancy of paints and so lists goes on. I embrace the time with the painting, it gives me such a pleasure: the moment of infatuation.

At the begging, I had no idea how I was going to work on this piece. All I want from this piece was to be able to feel like I was in the middle of downtown enjoying the end of the day. Lately I started listening to my painting more so. It may sounds crazy but I'm not the only one.  I know that the painting talks to me as I go, something like having a conversation with the painting or more like it takes over and tells me what to do. Shapes, textures and colors has nothing to do with reality but enjoying making sensations of infatuation.
